Privacy & site analytics

Understanding what’s useful

We use first-party analytics to count pageviews, categorized link clicks and newly saved launch-notification signups across this hub, the camp and training pages, and the blog. Daily totals can be grouped by page, a broad traffic-source category (such as Instagram, search, email or referral) and screen-size category.

These analytics use no cookies, persistent visitor IDs or fingerprinting. The analytics table does not store names, email addresses, IP addresses, full page query strings, full referrer URLs or browser user-agent strings. We send only predefined categories to this site’s backend. Unknown campaign names are grouped as “other campaign”; unknown referring sites are grouped as “referral.”

Pageviews and clicks are activity counts, not unique people. Repeat visits count again. We do not connect your browsing across visits or measure purchases on Shopify. Ad blockers, missing referrers, privacy settings and automated traffic can make the counts incomplete or imperfect.

Your choices

Our tracker skips browsers that signal Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. It also skips detected automation and pages opened with analytics=off in the URL. That URL option applies to the page you open; it is not saved as a preference. No analytics are sent when JavaScript is disabled.

Launch-notification emails

If you choose to sign up, your email and consent are stored separately to provide the notification you requested. The training plan and Where’s the Snow have separate lists. The aggregate analytics contain no email addresses and are not joined to those lists. Duplicate signups do not add another new-signup count.

Hosting and access

Analytics totals are held in this site’s database and are not available through a public reporting page. We do not send these events to a third-party advertising or analytics platform. The site’s hosting services necessarily process network requests to deliver the website and may maintain their own operational logs.
